This year we’re doing things a bit differently, we partnered with the awesome people at Furman+Keil Architects who have generously provided a brand new space for Ernesto’s geometrical magic to happen: 2 weekends, 1 artist, all the love.
The festivities will begin on November 9th at Furman + Keil Architect’s new space, come and be one of the first to experience “The Flea and the Acrobat” plus some of Ernesto’s showstoppers, accompanied by our lovely sponsors Topo Chico, the always delicious Hendrick’s Gin & our one and only Pennyback Tonics ❤
Can’t wait to show you what we’ve been preparing for you, let the most exciting season in Austin Arts begin!
I’ve had the pleasure to work with Erin Kuykendall for over a year now; she’s not only fun to be around, but also, a creative, outspoken, proactive soul filled with contagious energy to fight the good causes with you.
Erin is the editor in chief for The Audacity, a local publication composed of artists, activists, and storytellers, that has inspired me and many others to see things differently and taking a stand.
The Audacity team will be on site promoting their zine and also bringing artist Vero Caceres to our lovely Studio #95.
Come say hi, meet Erin and her team of trendsetters, have a drink with them and toast for a more beautiful world in the making.
Can’t say enough great things about Akki. I don’t think I know anyone as positive, talented and hard-working; Whatever she imagines, she makes into reality, and it is always AWESOME. She draws, paints, sews, pastes, stands for your rights (to party and the important ones too ;P ) etc.
She’ll be representing #TheProjecto at the EAST Group Exhibition, and present at our 2 studios both days (Nov 18th & 19th), meeting you, sharing her impressive variety of art products and making you smile 😀
Oh and just for you to get an idea of the coolness of this artist, let me tell you that she has collaborated with all three separately, The Projecto, collective blue & The Audacity! No connection in between, just people looking for outstanding creatives, and getting to Akki’s territory, nice!
What a delight last Sunday was! Not only did we enjoy ourselves with plenty of cold craft beers at the beautiful Axelrad Beergarden, we also got some nourishment with a slice of delish Luigis Pizzeria’s pizza (yes, by “a slice of pizza” I mean I didn’t even bother to count how many I ate). On top of that, we had the MEGA Pleasure of listening to Gabriel Santiago and two very special guests. It was PRICELESS! Sidiel Vieira & Thiago Rabello joined one of my favorite musicians and gave us an amazing, breathtaking afternoon ❤
It’s freaking magic when you can hear music being fabricated. The artists jammed, looked at each other, and knew exactly how to transport the entire audience at all times. We were delighted with covers and some new tunes from their new album “Traveler”. BRAVO!
Thanks to our lovely friends from Wonky Power for making this beautiful experience happen!
For all of those that were not able to attend and experience it live, I’m sorry, I wish you had. As I write this post looking at one of Greometria’s drawing I think it somewhat connects all the magic I was able to experience that day. I hope it touches you in a similar way.
I’m super thrilled to invite you to the event “Jumpstart your Success” a party coordinated by an amazing group that I belong to called “Power Heels”that focuses on enabling women to reach their maximum potential professionally and personally in a safe space.
We’re hosting this, our first event as a Holiday Party where we intend to prepare women for the new year by setting them up for success. In addition to networking with industry leaders.
(1) Build Your Profile: resume writing and building a stunning Linkedin profile.
(2) Look the Part: hairstyling and professional head shots.
(3) Talk the Talk: mock interviews and feedback led by business leaders from some of Austin’s hottest companies.
The event will benefit Dress For Success, an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence. * Please feel free to bring business clothing that you’d like to donate to the Organization. – Tip: Items that you’d use for a job interview.
Please RSVP here to join us in this lovely mission, we’ll have all that I mentioned earlier plus drinks, bites, and a raffle with really cool items donated by our sponsors. ❤
Carlos Olvera or “Vegan Cannibal” as the internet world knows him, is an important, multidisciplinary and fun artist! I’ve known him for over a decade and each time I see him, I learn a lot and have a blast all together.
I met him while I was working at an Art Gallery, and he would often do custom paintings for our clients; it always amazed me how he could dominate every single style, no matter what the demands were, he would pull it off.
Now he only does his thing with a very specific style: Fun-Zombie-Goreish-Punkedelic I would call it 😛 & he continues to amaze me with every piece.
He has gone from drawings to paintings, to objects, music, fanzines and tattoos (among others I’m sure); It doesn’t matter if you give him a skateboard, a toilet, paper or canvas, he’ll do something great and creative. He and his art have traveled the world and now we’ll have them here in Austin!
Come join us for some good times, some drinks and a lot of Vegan Cannibal this November the 19th at Studio #111 ❤
Beverly Kemp is a unique Painter and Internet Sensation, people recognize her controversial & raw Art anywhere; Last year Bev and Gerardo Arellano were “Must See” EAST studio #6 by Do512‘s featuring an Ann Richards painting that brought a smile to everyone.
This year She’ll work again with #TheProjecto bringing new and not so new pieces to us!
Let me share you an excerpt of her bio that I love, and describes some of what you’ll see:
Reviewers and critics have described my work as ‘eye-popping’ and ‘Disney-fied.’ Yet, I find that my oils on canvas are more than screaming upside-down, inside-out point-of-view statements or cross-eyed observations of societal norms and women’s issues that shouldn’t be. As I age and wage an on-going battle with Parkinson’s disease, filling in another red dress comes easier and easier. Now, I know my paint is saying something. ❤
Hope You’re already convinced and drop by Studio #111!!!
