I’ve known artist Clint Roth for a few years now; A super creative, fun person to be around. One of those people that kind of can’t help it but create, he’s constantly collaborating, painting, making music, building, you name it… Even though, he’s based here in Austin Tx. we don’t get to enjoy his art too often, and we’re solving that!
He started doing art a few years ago, while he was designing the album art for his band, Big Jaw… “It started me on a track of trying to find a way to make compelling pieces in the simplest terms by using symbols from nature and pop culture and combining these symbols with basic elements of design and a limited color palette. At most, I hope my work would evoke a story or a feeling or even just a question in the viewer’s mind. At least, I hope it’s fun to look at.”
A crowd pleaser for sure; Last year he was one of the artists that had more traffic at our studio, so you’ll see 😉
We’ll have his art in both studios November 18th & 19th, so make sure to take some time in your day to see it and enjoy a drink or two too!
Thanks for making our lives happier, putting into words our deepest feelings and making us cry, dance, sing, scream and head-bang, we definitely need it!
Have a wonderful thanksgiving weekend! We’re immensely thankful and proud for the last EAST. Thank you for being part of it, showing interest and support for these amazing artists.
We’ll be posting a few more pieces on our website in case you didn’t have the chance to do your shopping at the Studio.
Weeeell, I have nothing else to say for now but: thank you, thank you!!! XOXO
Musician, Teacher, Designer, Artist are a few words we can use to describe this talented, kind dude; I met him in Monterrey through music and it wasn’t till years after that I found out he was as talented at visual arts as he is on Music.
His resume it’s pretty impressive, he’s designed for worldwide brands plus he does a bunch of independent work and teaches unprivileged kids ❤️
You can hear his Austin band Kev Bev and the Woodland Creatures all the time around Austin and of course see/buy his Art at our Studio #111 next Saturday Nov 19th from 11am-6pm yayy
Oh also, you can hear us on KOOP this Monday 14th from 1-2PM Adrian, Clint, myself and our good friend Federico Archuleta (who’s having 2 kick ass shows next weekend) will be talking about EAST and their individual work 😉
Hope you have a lovely weekend! Let EAST begin and our hearts be filled with art and pretty things yayyy!
You might know Clint Roth in one of his two facets: Musician as Big Jaw, or an Artist as himself ;P
I knew him through the music but ended up working a little bit more with his Art ❤
His style has been described as “Lowhighmiddlebrow Outsider Pop” (Don’t ask me, but totally haha), & one of the things I love about it is how versatile and just fun to see it is! It’s refreshing how simple, colorful and raw his pieces are. He’s used his art for Album covers, stickers, T-shirts and more, always translating perfectly into any medium.
- If you have the EAST Catalog, it’s his piece the one that represents The Projecto 😀
He’ll be displaying his Art and chatting with us at Studio #111, hope you can make it!
I’m really happy to introduce you to “Stylo“, our new Band! The concept is a customizable band for events that will adapt to your music needs. The idea actually started with “GetYourGig”, our booking & management agency, back in Mexico in 2009.
Since we work with amazing people and musicians, we can pretty much guarantee we have a project or an artist that suits you and your event; having that in mind, with Stylo you’ll be able to make requests and guide us onto your ideal group and we’ll deliver!
We have amazing voices/faces/talent for you, from ChidoMachine DJing, to the best composers, award winning singers, multi-instrumentalists, etc. Let us know how we can help you; we’d love to be part of your celebration!
This last Saturday the 21st I had the pleasure of witnessing my good friend and awesome Artist Gerardo Arellano receive the “Emerging Artist” award at the Mexican American Cultural Center‘s Awards of Excellence here in Austin, Tx.
Ever since I had the pleasure to meet this amazing artist, I’ve been blessed to witness how he’s grown and kick ass repeatedly with/without help and at times with a bunch of obstacles. He has persevered and is now very active and well known not only as a painter, but as a musician, PR machine, Dance Lord and basically a local celebrity!
Who would have thought that the friend of my friend that was basically my first contact here in Austin Tx ended up to be one of my favorite artists a great contact and one of my rocks here in the States. I feel very lucky to be your friend and to have crazy awesome pieces of your art!
Check his amazing work at his website or Instagram! He’s constantly working all over town so I’m sure you’ll recognize it whenever you’re wondering around; if you’re lucky you can even catch him dancing or playing the accordion on the East Side!.
Cheers Gerardo, keep’em coming, you very well deserve this and much much more 😀
